A Celebration At Via Brasil Steakhouse

Via Brasil StakehouseThe Brazilian Outdoor FestivalThe Gomez Family have been tantalizing taste buds for over 27 years in New York. For the last four years, Adam Gomez and his wife, Anna Gomez have successfully celebrated the Brazilian lifestyle with their restaurant, Via Brasil Steakhouse, located in Summerlin, a short drive from the Las Vegas strip. This September, Sunday the 8th, they will present The Brazilian Outdoor Festival from 2pm-10pm outside of their restaurant. The event will have Samba dancers, Capoeira Performers, Brazilian Live Bands, Fire Dancers, Face Painting, Stilt Walkers, and Brazilian food and cocktails. All this for a $5.00 advanced ticket. This particular celebration will also have shopping opportunities.

Meats at Via Brasil SteakhouseCulinary Journey: This journey is totally mouthwatering and a true celebration of the culture of Brazil. Mark Richards, whose dined with me on numerous occasions was so elated with our cuisine, that he offered to video tape the entire festival for the Gomez family. Louis Rosa, the restaurant manager, introduce us to their 360, wine cellar, displaying wines from around the world. I enjoyed the wines from Argentina. Via Brasil Steakhouse also has a cozy cocktail area to the left of the entrance of the restaurant. It has a special menu created by Executive Chef, Michael Irwin. For those who can eat their heart out, here's what the buffet offers at $26.99 for the salad bar. There are 35 options, some of which are , clams, mussels, fried Talapia, Lobster Bisque or the soup of the day, Bok Choy, Seafood Salad, Chinese Eggplant, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Beef Capaccio, Artichokes Hearts, Fresh fruits, Prosciutto. Well, you got plenty to eat here. For the price of $45.99, one can have the salad bar and all the wonderful meats and fish. Top Sirloin, Leg of Lamb, Short Ribs, Brazilian Sausage, Flank Steak, N. Y. Strip Steak, Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon, Steel-head Salmon, Garlic Steak and Prosciutto wrapped in Pork Loin.

Side dishes: Food lovers enjoy side dishes which are special orders. Asparagus, creamed corn, sautéed spinach, Hand cut fries, Collard greens, Fried banana, Fejioa Tropeiro, Faro fa, Sautéed Mushrooms. Grilled Cheese, and of course Mashed Potatoes.

Deserts: Rodrigo our waiter, served us the Executive Chef's favorite, his own cheesecake and chocolate mousse. Delightful to say the least. The desert popular in Brazil, which is prepared by Chef Eddie in his style, is the Banana Flambé for two. It consist of a huge scoop of Vanilla ice cream, with pineapple and strawberries and fused gramnamie with bananas in a Martini glass. Frankly speaking, that's enough for four people.

Four Stars: Celebrity Scene News awards Four stars to Via Brasil Steakhouse for a festive dining adventure, and an excellent buffet. We recommend their Sunday Brunch, which is served from 10am-2pm. The price is a mere $24.99. Tell them Pete Allman sent ya!
