Baja Cantina A Celebrative Dining Journey

Baja CantinaBaja CantinaBaja Cantina has been in existence for 43 years. Celebrities, tourist and locals party up a storm there, while watching their favorite sports show. Patrons however enjoy the love that the chefs prepare in their seafood, vegetarian and pasta dishes. "Our cuisine uses the best ingredients money can buy" states Marcel G Doumerc, the General Manager.

Colorful with its surroundings in a festive setting, Baja Cantina chefs prepare cuisine south of Mexico. Tourist and locals enjoy the party atmosphere, especially when it comes to sports. On Monday's there's a BBQ Night with Football, on Sundays there's a brunch with Pro Football, where a family can watch the game on anyone of the 17 HD digital screens, while Saturdays present a brunch with College Football, with Wednesday serving Prime Rib and Tuesdays, The Original Baja Cantina Lobster Night.

Baja CantinaBaja CantinaMy evening of culinary delights was on a Thursday, where there's also Trivia Night with Paula, with folks winning all sots of prizes. On this particular evening I ordered Guacamole Dip, which is prepared fresh with a blend of avocado, tomato, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, fresh squeezed lime juice and spices. Wow, that is a great way to start off the evening. The next dish I ordered was the Halibut tacos, filled with sautéed asparagus, artichokes hearts, bell peppers, mushrooms, red onions, served on a wheat tortilla with a side of cilantro acoli. This is one of the top popular dishes at Baja. I recommend this dish as a first if you're a lover of fish. The Infamous Rosemary Chicken with Jack Cheese and rosemary salsa is another dish I recommend. There's also the ever popular traditional dish recognized throughout the world, the Chicken Yucatan Camal. This dish is prepared with a chicken breast made in a mole negro with red and green peppers, onion, crema fressa, served with handmade tortillas, black beans and Mexican salsa.

Baja CantinaBaja CantinaThere are many other dishes, especially for Vegetarians. How about a Burrito, served with sautéed mixed organic vegetables, black beans with epico di yellow, rolled into a jumbo burrito.

For desert we recommend Hagen Daz Ice Cream or Hot Lava Cake, prepared in a chocolate volcano and topped with strawberry.

Whether you're having wine, cocktails, or some hot tea, Baja Cantina is a night out for everyone. They're located at 311 Washington Blvd. in Marina Del Rey. Lunch is served at 11am and dinner at 4pm.
