King Of The Cage Gives Amateur MMA Fighters A Fighting Chance

The five top winners of World Amatuer Championships from King Of The Cage

Terry Tribilcock, founder of King Of The CageTerry Trebilcock, the founder of King Of The Cage, a mixed martial arts competition, is the first to have the World Amateur Championships for amateur Mixed Martial Arts fighters. Trebilcock has produced 500 Professional Mixed Martial Arts shows throughout the world. Quinton Rampage Jackson, Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans, Keith Jardine, Joe Stevenson, among others who now fight for UFC, have fought numerous times for King Of The Cage.

The first fight card with amateursí fighters occurred at The Palms at on October 19TH. Twenty one fighters fought their hearts out in Two, Three minute bouts. The final five winners of that competition were Anthony MacDonald who won $100,000.00 with a 12 fight televised contract deal. Frank Schuman of Wisconsin and Aaron Williams of California both won $25,000 and Sam Hess of Arizona won $50,000, while Ryan Dela Cruz from Hawaii won $50,000.

The unique part of this competition is that the on line viewers vote for their favorite fighter, along with the audience, using their smart phones to vote. Together with the judges, voting was based on skill level, personality, athleticism, level of excitement of each fighter and marketability. The fight card was televised on MAV TV, Direct TV and Dish Network.
