By Peter Allman

mayweather7_600This month at Mayweather Boxing Club, there was an energy in the air that was not quite like any other I had seen. Media from Los Angeles, and other parts of the country were a waiting for the Eight-Time, Five-Division and current WBC Welterweight World Champion, Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Mayweather will put his WBC Welterweight title on the line when he faces Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero 31-1-1[18KO's]at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 4th. This is a fight promoted by Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy. It is appropriately titled May Day: Mayweather vs Guerrero. After witnessing a hard workout, which was no sweat for the champ, it was clear that his year lay off, didn't slow him down a bit. His Uncle, Roger Mayweather worked the gloves as he easily went through the workout, not to mention the body blows to one of the other team members. Ah, but that was just the start, as Mayweather hit the body bag, then going to the speed bag and continued to work out with various exercises, it looked as though it was a breeze for him. Impressive to say the least.

His take on being a good fighter though, is to fight smart. 'Strike your opponent but don't get hit doing it. " According to the 37 year old fighter, he sees angles in his fights that other fighters don't see. His Father, Floyd Mayweather was also present and seemed confident about his sons condition.
